Zeeshan Syed, PhD (CEO)
Zeeshan serves as Health at Scale’s CEO and was a Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford Medicine and an Associate Professor with Tenure in Computer Science at the University of Michigan. He was previously part of the early stage team that launched Google[X] Life Sciences (now Verily). Zeeshan is a recipient of multiple awards including an NSF CAREER award and holds a PhD from MIT EECS and Harvard Medical School in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering, and MEng and SB degrees in EECS from MIT.
Zahoor Elahi (COO)
Zahoor is the Chief Operating Officer of Health at Scale. He was previously Senior Vice President at Optum, United Health Group. In his roles at Optum, Zahoor was focused on product innovation and use of transformative technologies to maximize client value in the changing healthcare ecosystem. Zahoor has scaled and grown business within and outside of large enterprises over his career. Zahoor holds at BS in engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MEng from Cornell University.
John Guttag, PhD (CTO)
John is the Chief Technology Officer of Health at Scale, the Dugald C. Jackson Professor of EECS at MIT, and the Former Chair of the EECS Department at MIT. John is a Fellow of the AAAS and ACM. John leads the Clinical and Applied Machine Learning Group at MIT and is a Principal Investigator for the Big Data Initiative at CSAIL. Before joining Health at Scale, John was on the board of Revoco Pharmacies, Empirix, and Avid Technologies. John is an alumnus of Brown University and was awarded a PhD from the University of Toronto.
Mohammed Saeed, MD PhD
Mohammed is the Chief Medical Officer of Health at Scale and serves on the Faculty in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Michigan. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and has several years of experience as a clinician with awards including recognition as a Fierce Healthcare Rising Star in Health Tech. Mohammed was previously an Engineering-Scientist for Philips Healthcare. He holds an MD from Harvard Medical School, MEng and PhD degrees in EECS from MIT, and a BS from Purdue.

Mark Fendrick
Dr. Mark Fendrick is a Professor of Internal Medicine in the School of Medicine and a Professor of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. He is also the Director of the Value-Based Insurance Design Center at the University of Michigan. Dr. Fendrick is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, serves on the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee, and has been invited to present testimony before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health, and the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services Subcommittee on Personnel.

Michael Chernew
Dr. Chernew is the Leonard D. Schaeffer Professor of Health Care Policy and the Director of the Healthcare Markers and Regulation Lab at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chernew is also the Chair of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Health Advisors and Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Health Connector Board. In 2000, 2004 and 2010, he served on technical advisory panels for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Dr. Chernew is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Senior Visiting Fellow at MITRE.

Andrew Lo
Dr. Andrew W. Lo is the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, Director of the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering, a Principal Investigator at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and an Affiliated Faculty Member of the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Dr. Lo is also an External Faculty Member of the Santa Fe Institute and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a Fellow of Academia Sinica; the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; the Econometric Society; and the Society of Financial Econometrics.

Lauren Aronson
Lauren Aronson is a Partner at Mehlman Consulting. Prior to joining the firm, Aronson was Director of the Office of Legislation at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and led the Agency’s interactions with Capitol Hill. Before joining CMS, Aronson served as a Professional Staff Member for the House Ways and Means Committee, working on Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D payment policies. Aronson also served in the White House under President Obama as the Policy Director in the Office of Health Reform as a key member working to enact the Affordable Care Act.

Dr. Guy David is the Alan B. Miller Professor of Health Care Management and Chair of the Health Care Management Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Senior Fellow at The Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and a Research Associate for the Health Care Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Benjamin Scirica
Dr. Benjamin Scirica is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is also the Director of Quality Initiatives at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Scirica further serves as a Senior Investigator at the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group, where he is the Director of the Electrocardiography Core Laboratory.
